All we need is a ditto game simply updated to 2020 visuals, technical and audio fidelity. That is why all we need is a remake, as they probably dont have the talent to make a new classic rts to live up to c&c name, but they have good workforce, tech and budget.

If you think about it now, it was probably them unable to figure out a proper EA type of monetization that could gain them profit returns. But i never read generals 2 had development issues with the engine, they had mostly directional and multiplayer problems, as the game was already mostly done. I remember Bioware and ghost games having issues with frostbite, well anything other than battlefield would require a lot of extra modification and effort. Though making an RTS game with Frostbite is kind of a nightmare since the engine wasn't made with RTS in mind. Generals 2/C&C F2P was using the Frostbite engine before cancellation. Originally posted by WhiteKnight:I would love to see Generals & ZH on Frostbite engine. So why not simply finish that project as it was initially planed as full price title? The reason for cancellation was simply, they couldn't figure out how to monetize a free2play RTS. The Project was clearly mismanaged with "free-to-play", anyway quite a lot of content was made. No information relating to the game has since been released, leading to the possibility that the project has in fact been abandoned.

In 2014, EA was looking for a new developer of the reboot. In November 2013, EA announced the game will still be developed by a new game studio. It was then re-purposed in August 2012 as what would have been the first in a series of free-to-play games set in the Command & Conquer universe. Please try again later. Why dont they simply finish C&C Generals 2?Ģ012 the game was originally announced as Command & Conquer: Generals 2, as a direct sequel to 2003's Command & Conquer: Generals.
